A Few of you who have become friends deserve to know this. Really I am no one special. Like many of you I have a great love for music. And this is where it all gets Complicated. My History; I had my trials and trib with formal education in music and music composition. I Have been lead singer and keyboardist in bands. Been on tours performing. Prior to that on tour with my uncles band after they cut their first studio release. Even prior to that I sang in choirs, shows, etc. I've been in recording studios. My friend ex-band member owns a recording studio. I Know and hung out with many of the well know funk band members here in Ohio. Kick game with one well known name's nephew who is making his way up the same ladder as his uncles. I have a few friends who are DJ(s) (Like many of you). One just came back on Radio tour overseas, possibly in some of your countries. Which is how I got a clear understanding of our difference in composition of music. And Finally one friend who is composing music for professional Dance (Ballet/Contemporary) companies. Finally I had a nephew who had a leading recording company seek them out to cut a record. That deal turned bad - with the studio owning the groups name. Currently; I work with a few local rappers, some on tour, composing music in Pro-software. Ohio seems to be in the spot light again (After the Funk Group mass), this time with underground rappers (For those that don't know, every once in a while you will here underground rappers on the radio prior to their come-up). This is where it gets Weird. Like we tell the young in entertainment, sports, etc. still seek and education. I did. Computer(s), system analyst/Software engineer. AGAIN music pops up, as I have been with an open source team, enhancing some music software AND NOW on another project developing a Music Composing/Creation software package we will testing in the studio. UNINTENTIONALLY - I am forced to have ties, even if mildly, with parts of the music industry. So MUSIC MAKER JAM. was interesting to me. It allows a different processing in creating music. It focuses on the MUSIC and not the software settings, channels, midi options, etc, as we do in pro-software. Even more so MMJ creates a Quality master. We matched it up, and its pretty clean. Although some of you will have to deal with catooh, a couple in my circle, can re-create damn near any sound with his setup. And melodies - well again - x-band member. I did this with live instruments. This makes it easier. THEN THERE IS YOU - Some of you are OUTRAGEOUS in TALENT. Better than what I'm seeing people bring to the studio OR even hear on the radio. A Beat and one instrument playing a melody!!!! Because they don't have YOU and the SKILLS some of you have developed. And some of you can put a FULL Orchestra behind a rapper if you wanted to a make it SLAMMING! THE PROBLEM IS - where do you fit in. The music industry has been shaken up and trying to regroup. CD Sales is fading to streaming and even iTunes sales has dropped. Groups/Singers/Rappers profits are still coming from tours. BUT NOW - anyone can produce and get slamming music out there. All of this is still be calculated and debated. That also means the door is wide open now, for those of you who want it, to come up with a way to get yours out there, for the money or/and the fame.
