
Real name Austin Richard Post, Post Malone was born in Syracuse, New York, on July 4, 1995. He grew up playing basketball, but became more passionate about American football during the his family arrived in Dallas, Texas, where his father was an assistant nutritionist for the local team, the Dallas Cowboys. Alongside his attraction to sport, he developed real musical skills and first learned to play the guitar, where he reached such a level that he went so far as to audition for the rock group Crown the Empire. Unfortunately, his strings break during his performance, which cannot be successful. He left Dallas for Los Angeles and participated in the group Blacked. But he managed to find time to work on his own songs, including “White Iverson,” a tribute to basketball player Allen Iverson. Noticed, this allowed Post Malone to continue with new titles and attract the attention of Republic Records, who signed him in the summer of 2015. Thanks to this sudden spotlight, he was led to work with artists such as 50 Cent, Young Thug and Kanye West. Having become friends with Justin Bieber, he opened for the latter on the Purpose World Tour. In May 2016, Post Malone released a mixtape titled August 26th. This announces the release of the album Stoney (2016), which notably includes the hit “Déjà Vu”, in collaboration with Justin Bieber. Other duets follow, with Quavo on “Congratulations” (2017) then 21 Savage on “Rockstar” (2018), present on a second album entitled Beerbongs
