Just another self taught Dj who just wants recognion just like all of you. My name is Mikael Smith, AKA VaporWave. I am 22 years of age I grew up in a small town just out of LA. I was first introduced to the EDM genre when I was 16 as I got familiar with artist like Skrillex, Major lazer, Vertual Riot and many other artists I began to learn music theory but not in the way you might think; Instead of reading books on how to produce music I decided to take a more direct approach. I didnt have the the money or friends who had music equipment of any kind so I went to you local Guitar Center and messed around with some of the equipment there and it turned out I had somewhat of a natural gift in music. One of the employees noticed this and asked if I if I was signed; this kind of threw me off guard a bit since well obvious reasons. I simply replied "I wish." At that he chuckled and bit and said his name was Anton and told me I was really good and offered to help teach me I took the offer though not right away. About a month I finally took his offer and to my surprise he was a producer himself he is a rapper for the group known as The Ol' Days I encourage you to check them out. After a few months we had a bit of a falling out and I took all he taught me and know I'm here. I hope tnis has told you a litte bit about me.
